Tom Wilson gets married

Females across the DMV have their hearts broken now as Tom Wilson is officially off the market. The Washington Capitals right wing married his longtime girlfriend Taylor Pischke over the weekend.

Wilson is the second Capitals player to get married this summer, joining Nicklas Backstrom. That’s very ironic considering both of them are hurt but congrats to them.

Wilson’s wedding was held in the D.C. area and many current and former Capitals teammates attended. The former ones included Chandler Stephenson and Michael Latta. Andre Burakovsky wasn’t there.

Wilson proposed to Taylor in July of 2021. They’ve been dating since 2015 and first met at one of Taylor’s volleyball tournaments in Canada. Her bachelorette was celebrated in earl August in Banff, Alberta.

Some other Caps that were there included T.J. Oshie, Nick Jensen, and Brenden Dillon.

Oshie, of course, was the life of the reception party. He was drinking out of a huge candle holder. He filled it up with a Captain and a Coke. Now that is good and a winning taste.

We weren’t at the wedding sadly, many of us weren’t and wished we were. But thank god there’s the internet.

Is it as epic as chugging a Bud Light through his jersey at a championship parade? Not quite. But it’s still the best way to celebrate at a wedding. Wish I did that at my friend’s wedding earlier this summer.

Wilson’s wedding had no impact on the team’s preparations for the season ahead. T.J. Oshie was back on the ice for Monday’s informal skate at MedStar Capitals Iceplex.

Wilson said on breakdown day it would be a rough summer. But hopefully his day with Taylor as well as his bachelor party was the highlight of his summer. Hopefully it fuels him to get healthy soon. Congrats to the Wilsons from all of us at Stars and Sticks.
