It’s the most wonderful time of the year! No I’m not talking about opening night, at least not yet, I’m talking about the Washington Capitals canine calendar photoshoot.
It’s an annual tradition and always the most popular holiday gift for your favorite Caps fan. They typically do these photoshoots in October and the calendar itself gets released in the holiday season.
This season the proceeds from all the canine calendar sales will benefit the Wolf Trap Animal Rescue as well as the Monumental Sports and Entertainment foundation.
Now it’s time for some canine calendar photo and video content. Credits go toward the Caps, Sammi Silber of Washington Hockey Now, Darren Haynes of WUSA 9, Scott Abraham of WDBJ 7, NBC Sports Washington, and NBC 4.
Here’s the Russian trio of Alex Ovechkin with his dog Blake, as well as Evgeny Kuznetsov and Dmitry Orlov with their pups.
not sure what’s making us smile more: kuzy’s big grin or the incredible assortment of noises made in trying to get the dogs to look forward for the photo pic.twitter.com/uM1XlxsleB

We heard that word on the street is that goaltenders Darcy Kuemper and Charlie Lindgren are friends already. Today their dogs met for the first time and became instant buds.
