After a tough loss to the Boston Bruins, the Washington Capitals will look for their first win tonight against the Toronto Maple Leafs in their first contest on the road.
The Maple Leafs are coming off a loss last night themselves to the Montreal Canadiens so both teams will be angry heading into tonight’s game which should make for a high scoring spectacle.
After the Maple Leafs turned to Matt Murray last night, a familiar face will be in net for them tonight against the Capitals. That’s right folks, the Caps are facing Ilya Samsonov for the first time since they didn’t give him a qualifying offer over the summer.
Charlie Lindgren will likely get the nod in net for the Caps as Darcy Kuemper played last night. Last night’s loss wasn’t on the new number one goalie, not at all.
What did the Caps in was their slow start and their pathetic effort on the power play, as the extra man unit went 0 for 4. That has to improve tonight especially against a talented offensive team like the Maple Leafs.
