It’s game day and the Washington Capitals will look to rebound from a tough loss against the Ottawa Senators where they allowed five unanswered goals despite taking a 2-0 lead after the first period. Tonight they’ll host the Los Angeles Kings.

The Caps held a morning skate today at MedStar Capitals Iceplex. Head coach Peter Laviolette was absent as he’s been battling a non COVID illness for the last couple of days. The hope is that he’s good to go for the game tonight.

Here were the lines via Tarik El-Bashir of The Athletic:

Darcy Kuemper was the first goalie to leave the ice, indicating that he will be the starting goalie tonight against the Kings. Tonight is the first of two meetings between the teams this season. The Caps are 42-58-13-3 all time vs. Los Angeles and 5-1-0 in their last six games against the Kings dating back to the 2018-19 season.
