#1 Evgeny Kuznetsov

The number one stud of the game was Evgeny Kuznetsov who came away with a four point night with two goals and two assists. His two goals were his first two goals of the season and it was exactly the type of game we were looking for in Kuzy. He rose to the occasion.

All four of Kuznetsov’s points came on the power play which marked his first career game where he recorded three or more power play points. He’s two assists shy of passing Peter Bondra (353) for the ninth most assists in franchise history.

Kuznetsov said this on snapping the four game losing streak:

"“I felt like we play good but not good enough for wins lately, but this win will give us big breath and we can breathe a little bit.”"

Overall Kuznetsov’s four point night marked his seventh career four point game. His four power play points tied a franchise record for most power play games in a single games.

It’s happened 11 times in Capitals franchise history with the most recent one occurring by Dennis Wideman back on Dec. 9, 2011 against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
