Tonight could be a historical night at Capital One Arena. The Washington Capitals host the Dallas Stars and Alex Ovechkin could either tie or pass Gordie Howe for second place on the NHL’s all time goal scoring list.

Ovechkin had a hat trick on Tuesday night against the Chicago Blackhawks to propel him to 800 career goals. He’s the third player in NHL history to reach that historic mark and it put him in elite company.

Lars Eller (upper body injury) was on the ice for morning skate at MedStar Capitals Iceplex. He missed the game on Tuesday in Chicago. Goalie Darcy Kuemper was also on the ice. He’s on injured reserve with an upper body injury.
