Tonight the Washington Capitals take on the Philadelphia Flyers as they look for payback from Wednesday night’s loss. Here are two fantasy value picks who should make an impact in tonight’s game.

Tom Wilson: Since making his season debut on Jan. 8 vs. the Columbus Blue Jackets, Wilson has recorded a team high 10 hits. Wilson missed the first 42 games of the season after undergoing offseason ACL surgery following Game 1 of the Caps first round playoff series against the Florida Panthers.

Last season Wilson had career highs with 24 goals, 28 assists, 52 points, and 10 power play points in 78 games which was ranked tied for second on the Capitals in goals and fourth in assists and points.

Wilson’s 0.67 points per game rate last season was the second highest in his career while his career high was the previous season with 0.70.

Wilson has increased his points per game rate nearly every year from the previous season during his career. Last season, Wilson set a carer low for penalty minutes in an 82 game season with 98 penalty minutes.

Wilson represented the Capitals in Las Vegas last year at his first NHL All Star Game. He ranks sixth in the NHL in hits with 1,952 since 2013-14 which was his first season. His 240 hits ranked tied for 11th in the NHL last season. Wilson was one of two players to finish with 200 plus hits and 50 plus points.

Erik Gustafsson: Ever since John Carlson went down, Erik Gustafsson has been the Capitals best defensemen and should be considered for the NHL All Star Game this year.

Since Dec. 17, Gustafsson has recorded 15 points with seven goals and eight assists in 12 games which leads the Capitals in that stretch. His 15 points during that span rank tied for 11th in the NHL among all skaters and second among defensemen.

Gustafsson leads the NHL in plus minus with +19 since Dec. 1. 16 of Gustafsson’s 25 points this season have come at five on five, including all seven of his goals. He has nine assists on the season.
