Making the case to vote Dylan Strome into the NHL All Star Game
A hilarious troll move Washington Capitals fans should do if they were upset with the scratching is vote Dylan Strome into the NHL All Star Game.
You can do so by clicking here or tweeting his name using the hashtag #NHLAllStarVote.
Strome has recorded eight goals and 23 assists for 31 points in 44 games this season. Now that Nicklas Backstrom is back in the lineup the Caps have had to do some tweaks to their lines.
During the last two games they sat Anthony Mantha. Last night Dylan Strome was the odd man out. Strome was brought in to fill in for Backstrom as he was rehabbing from hip resurfacing surgery. He was decent with the Blackhawks.
And he’s honestly been alright with the Caps, minus the last five games or so. He failed to record a point in his last three games but he’s still the Caps third leading scorer this season.
Coach Peter Laviolette explained the scratch:
“Dylan’s played great for us, so he’ll be back in there. These are tough decisions. I have to keep a balanced lineup in there. I’ve got to keep faceoff guys in there. I’ve got to keep penalty kill guys in there. He’s done a good job — he’ll be back in.”
Alex Ovechkin will be representing the Caps at the NHL All Star Game in Sunrise, Florida. Evgeny Kuznetsov is also on the ballot.
Having Strome voted into the All Star Game to join Ovechkin and possibly Kuznetsov and Darcy Kuemper would be hilarious after he was just scratched. But I wouldn’t read too much into that scratch.
Strome is having a good season and he’ll enter this summer as a free agent. And then a tough decision will be made. It all depends on the health of Backstrom. But Strome has done good and pleased the fan base.
