Hurricanes vs. Capitals: Date, Time, Betting Odds, Streaming, More
Tonight will be the prelude to Saturday night’s Stadium Series between the Washington Capitals and Carolina Hurricanes. On this Valentine’s Day there will be no love for one another as these Metropolitan Division rivals square off at Capital One Arena before they do so again in Raleigh, North Carolina at Carter Finley Stadium on Saturday night.
The Caps will be without Alex Ovechkin as Brian MacLellan announced that he will be attending to a family matter. RMNB further reported that Ovechkin is flying to Russia to aid his ill father. All the prayers are sent to the Ovechkin family.
Coach Peter Laviolette said that Ovechkin will be out for the foreseeable future which includes tonight’s game against the Hurricanes, Thursday’s home game against the Florida Panthers and Saturday’s rematch between the Caps and Canes for the Stadium Series.
This will be the first outdoor game Ovechkin will miss. He recorded three points in three outdoor games with two goals and one assist including goals in the 2015 Winter Classic and 2018 Stadium Series, both at home. 2015 was at Nationals Park while 2018 was at the Naval Academy.
