The Capitals played their third outdoor game and first Stadium Series game at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, MD, playing hosts to the visiting Toronto Maple Leafs. In a one sided game where Evgeny Kuznetsov, Nicklas Backstrom, and John Carlson all had 1 goal and 2 assist nights, this game was morely noted to honor and recognize the importance of all military personnel in the U.S.A and Canada, while also playing on the campus of the U.S. Naval Academy, the first service academy to host an NHL game. Alex Ovechkin and former Capital, Jakub Vrana also scored singles to aid the Capitals win.

The game also experienced a 15 minute delay in the middle of the third period, where the lights went out at the commercial break.
