The Washington Capitals snapped their six game losing streak with a 6-3 win over the New York Rangers yesterday and this afternoon they’ll take on the Buffalo Sabres looking to get back in the playoff race in an important game for both teams. Whoever wins this will likely make the big dance in my opinion.
Tonight is the second of three meetings between the teams this season. The Caps dropped the first matchup in overtime at home 5-4 on Jan. 3. The teams will meet once again in the series finale on March 15 at Capital One Arena.
Washington is 67-85-15-8 all time against Buffalo and 12-2-3 in their last 17 games against the Sabres dating back to the 2018-19 season. The Caps have also won six straight games at KeyBank Center and have a record of 8-2-1 in their last 11 games at Buffalo.
