The Washington Capitals are on Disney Channel tonight! No we aren’t kidding. The NHL will partner up with Disney’s current #1 rated animated comedy Big City Greens with a live animated version of tonight’s game between the Capitals and New York Rangers.
Tonight is the third of four meetings between the teams this season and final one in New York and even though the Rangers have been higher up in the standings than the Capitals, it was Washington that’s won both games thus far.
Both wins were by a combined score of 10-3. They shut out the Rangers 4-0 on Dec. 27 at MSG and defeated them again 6-3 at Capital One Arena on Feb. 25. They conclude their season series on April 2 in Washington.
Today the Capitals recalled Joe Snively from the Hershey Bears, who’s appeared in eight games with the big club this season. The team did not have a morning skate today. Per Roman Stubbs of The Washington Post, Alex Ovechkin (maintenance) and Sonny Milano (non COVID illness) did not practice on Monday at MSG. John Carlson continued to skate in a blue non contact jersey.
