Tonight the Washington Capitals take on the New York Islanders in what should be an interesting game for the playoff picture even though the Caps aren’t in the big dance. If you’re still playing fantasy hockey and need someone from the Caps for the final week of the regular season, look no further than Dylan Strome.

Strome has 21 goals and 40 assists for 61 points and in a season full of injuries, his play has been a bright spot for an otherwise down season for the Capitals. Strome has scored in each of the last three games.

Here’s what Nate Groot Nibbelink of Yahoo Fantasy said about Strome:

"Washington plays Monday/Tuesday/Thursday this week and with Thursday a massive 15-game slate, it’s unlikely Strome fits into your plans on that day. But if you can get two early-week games from him it’s likely to be worthwhile. Strome has four points — including three goals — in his last three games and has solidified a spot on the top power-play unit.Strome saw 19:23 of ice time in his last outing, giving even more confidence that at his worst he can be valuable due to sheer volume of usage. I’d be shocked if Strome doesn’t get at least a point between Monday and Tuesday and I’d say it’s about 50/50 whether he gives you two or more."

Sean Allen of ESPN.com added this about Strome:

"The Capitals offense is not very threatening without Alexander Ovechkin. He missed Saturday’s game, so check on his status ahead of this tilt. If Ovechkin is in, Strome is his usual linemate and has been on a bit of a run of late. While Strome still managed a goal without Ovie on Saturday, I wouldn’t tempt fate twice."

I actually would tempt the fate considering he’s scored in his last three games and Ovi will be out tonight.
