Top places to pregame before a Capitals game
There’s one more home game left until October and if you’re heading to the Washington Capitals game looking for a place to grab food or a drink before the game, look no further. Presenting the top bars and restaurants around Capital One Arena.
Yard House: This is a new spot down the street from the arena. I’ve seen it from the outside and looks cool.
Rocket Bar: This is my favorite spot to go to before games. It’s downstairs across the street from Capital One and has like an arcade style setup with pool, shuffleboard and other games. You can bring outside food if you want as they don’t serve food but they do have six dollar beer of the months specials which is usually their Rocket Fuel.
Irish Channel: This place is real chill especially if you’re looking for that Irish pub vibe.
District E: This is the place to be for Fan Appreciation Night before the game for appetizer and Bud Light specials. It just opened and is where Bar Louie used to be.
Clydes: If you are looking to spend a little extra be sure to check out Clydes right by Gallery Place and the arena. They have a huge space and good food.
Penn Quarter Sports Tavern: Penn Quarter has a fire buffalo chicken wrap and is located just a block from the arena. They also have three floors with lots of TVs.
Taffer’s Tavern: Located next to the arena, it used to be where Penn Commons was. They got good food and good drink specials before the game.
Bar Deco: This rooftop bar currently has two Cherry Blossom drink specials. It’s located across the street from Capital One Arena. I haven’t been there yet but heard good things about it from my friends. Maybe I’ll check it out if I get there in good time.
