On Saturday night at Giant Center, the Hershey Bears took care of business in a 4-2 win over the Hartford Wolf Pack in the Atlantic Division Finals to go up 2-0 in the best of five series.

Mason Morelli had a two point night. Hershey opened the scoring with a power play goal at 3:12 as Joe Snively found Morelli who put on a good move to finish off with his third goal of the playoffs.

The Wolf Pack scored on a power play goal at 11:32 from Will Cuylle. The Bears took the lead right back at 12:44 when Vincent Iorio banked the puck along the boards to Morelli. Morelli came down the ice on a two on one with Beck Malenstyn. Malenstyn had the finish for his second of the postseason.

The Bears lead got extended with a goal from Mike Vecchione off a pass from Henrik Borgstrom. It was his second of the playoffs and it came at 8:48.

In the third, Hendrix Lapierre made it 4-1 with Aliaksei Protas setting him up on the two on one rush. It came at 13:14 for his second of the playoffs.

Hartford got one back with a goal from Adam Clandenning at 15:09. That wouldn’t be enough as the Bears hung on to win 4-2. Both teams went one for two on the power play. The Bears outshot the Wolf Pack 30-27. Bears goalie Hunter Shepard made 25 saves.

Game 3 of the series is this Wednesday at 7 p.m. If you live in Chocolate Town you can check out their Game 3 watch party at the Bears Den in the Hershey Lodge. I’ve been there. Great food.

light. Must Read. 3 logical Evgeny Kuznetsov trade proposals

Should the series require a Game 5 and a return to Hershey that game will take place on Tuesday May 23. Hopefully the Bears can complete the sweep on Wednesday. Still plenty of time to check out the future Caps.
