Bears take series lead, look to command it tonight

The Hershey Bears got another big win on Saturday night to go up in the Eastern Conference Finals up 2-1. They got a 4-2 win on the road over the Rochester Americans at Blue Cross Arena.

The Bears took a 1-0 lead at 11:50 of the first period with a Logan Day one timer from the blue line that went past Malcom Subban for his second of the playoffs. The assists came from Aliaksei Protas and Sam Anas.

Anas and Day would connect again in the second period this time with Anas scoring this time on the power play from Day and Hendrix Lapierre. Goal came at 5:36.

Rochester got on the board at 7:57 on a goal from Zach Metsa. The Bears responded at 10:27 with a goal from Connor McMichael off a centering feed from Lucas Johansen and Joe Snively.

Sean Malone cut the deficit to 3-2 at 7:36 in the third period. The Bears sealed the game with an empty netter from Protas assisted by Riley Sutter and Beck Malenstyn at 19:17.

Shots were 33-25 in favor of the Americans. Hunter Shepard made 31 saves. The Bears went one for two on the power play while killing two penalties.

Game 4 is at 6:05 p.m. tonight on NBC Sports Washington. Hershey looks to take a 3-1 series lead back to Giant Center on Wednesday night with a chance to advance to the Calder Cup Finals.

Zack Fisch, the voice of the Bears, and Todd Sadowski will have the call. If you live in the Hershey area note that the FOX 43 broadcast will start at the conclusion of NASCAR programming. Antenna TV will have the beginning of the game. NBCSW will have it in its entirety.
