As of now the Capitals hold the eighth pick in this year’s NHL Draft but there is a possibility that they could move up. The target is who myself and some others have in our mock drafts. It’s a slam dunk choice in my opinion.

What’s really cool is that it’s an exciting time to be a Capitals fan right now. They are not rebuilding but this will be an intense and interesting retool that will make or break the remaining air from the window.

The latest involving trades is that the Caps are having a hard time shipping Anthony Mantha and Evgeny Kuznetsov. Maybe they each get one more chance under Spencer Carbery. Maybe he lights a fire and they each have breakout seasons.

If not maybe they can get traded for picks. But if I’m the Caps entering the draft I somehow find a way to trade up to at least leapfrog the Flyers who are also in on Michkov.
