Washington Capitals vs. New Jersey Devils: Date, Time, Betting Odds, Streaming, More

The Washington Capitals concluded their season long five game homestand and are now hitting the road. Tonight is the first of a back to back with the first stop being in New Jersey against the Devils. Tomorrow night they’ll face the New York Islanders.

The Capitals are coming off an overtime loss to the Florida Panthers on Wednesday night in a game that saw them blow a 3-2 lead in the third period. Their record is now 5-4-2 with 12 points. That’s three points behind the third place Devils. In the wild card its two points behind the second place Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Caps loaned Mike Sgarbossa to the Hershey Bears. They also placed defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk on IR. There will be a forward call up from the Hershey Bears. The team called up Nicolas Aube Kubel and Hunter Shepard.

After yesterday’s practice, Spencer Carbery said that Antony Mantha will not travel with the team this weekend. He’s day to day with an upper body injury after taking a puck to the face Wednesday night. Joel Edmundson and TvR also won’t travel.

Nic Dowd is now activated from IR while Anthony Mantha heads to IR.
