The Washington Capitals are red hot and they’re looking to continue the momentum tonight against the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Blue Jackets are a team they beat here in this same building two weeks ago for the Caps’ 1,000th win on home ice.

Today was an optional morning skate at MedStar Capitals Iceplex. Per Tarik El Bashir of Monumental Sports Network, there was no sign of Evgeny Kuznetsov at the skate as the center missed yesterday’s practice with an illness.

El Bashir also noted from yesterday’s practice the following: Anthony Mantha (ear), Darcy Kuemper (shot), Trevor van Riemsdyk (lower body), were good to go. Joel Edmundson is TBD with a hand injury. Martin Fehervary could join practice next week as he recovers from a lower body injury.
