We are just hours away from a 10:30 p.m. eastern puck drop between the Washington Capitals and the San Jose Sharks. Here’s how to watch and bet on the game. Also, peep who will be in the radio booth tonight. The player to watch in tonight’s game is none other than Caps season goal leader Dylan Strome.

Strome scored his team leading eighth goal of the season in the Capitals’ last win at 4:52 into overtime that edged the Buffalo Sabres 4-3 on Nov. 22. I was there and it was amazing.

Believe it or not, it marked Strome’s first career overtime goal and his 12th game winning goal. Per NHL Stats, Strome became the third player in Capitals franchise history to score a goal at 4:50 of overtime or later, following Calle Johansson at 4:59 on Jan. 28, 2000 and Peter Bondra at 4:56 on Nov. 5, 2002.

Strome has scored the game winning goal in two of the Capitals’ last three wins with the other one coming on Nov. 14 against the Vegas Golden Knights. He recorded his first assist of the season on an Alex Ovechkin goal on Nov. 18 against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The helper marked Strome’s 13th assist on an Ovechkin goal since joining the Capitals at the start of last season. That’s tied with Evgeny Kuznetsov for the most on the team in that span.

Since the start of last season, Strome ranks first on Washington in games played with 98, second in goals with 31, as well as assists and points with 44 and 75, respectively.

Strome has 10 points in 17 games with eight goals and two assists. At practice yesterday he was centering the second line with Connor McMichael to his left and Matthew Phillips to his right. McMichael moves to the wing portion to make room for Hendrix Lapierre at the third line center position.
