Caps receive votes for the Selke Trophy
Tom Wilson, Aliaksei Protas, and rookie Justin Sourdif all received votes for the Selke Award, awarded to the best defensive forward in the NHL. Wilson finished 24th, but for him to be recognized for his defensive skills says a lot about how he is currently viewed by the league. He's mean and tough, but his skating, strength, reach, and speed make him a nightmare to play against. It's great to see Big Pro get some recognition as well. He and Wilson on the penalty kill are damn good and make it hard for opposing teams to play against the Caps. That Sourdif got votes was surprising, but not that much. Apparently, his strong rookie season didn't go unnoticed.
Will Dylan Larkin end up in DC?
As I write this, there are all sorts of rumors out there about where Dylan Larkin will end up. He is the hottest trade rumor out there. He may be too expensive for the Capitals taste, but the bidding for Larkin will probably raise the price on everyone else on the trading block this summer.
Read Jesse's take on the Caps and Larkin and if they should try and bring him to DC.
John Carlson has been linked to a few teams, including the one just to the north of Washington. Could Carlson end up with the Flyers in Philadelphia?
Darren Raddysh is going to make a lot of money this summer. The Capitals have space under the salary cap and a need for a right shot d-man. Should the Caps sign Raddysh?Jesse breaks it down to see if he's a fit for the Capitals.
It was 8 years ago June 9th, 2018 when the Washington Capitals ran all over Washington and celebrated their Stanley Cup win with their fans. I leave with you with this glorious moment.
