The Washington Capitals earned a 3-2 win over the Dallas Stars for their second win in a row and second win of the season. It was also another knockdown of an undefeated team after the Caps took care of the Vegas Golden Knights 48 hours prior.

"You look at those lineups, you know they are going to be good teams," said Tom Wilson. "They're dangerous. So good start on home ice."

Colin Blackwell scored at 12:19 on a shorthanded goal. 1-0 Stars would be the score after one. Tom Wilson would tie it 55 seconds into the second period with the assists coming from Pierre-Luc Dubois and Connor McMichael.

Dylan Strome gave the Caps the lead at 6:15 with assists coming from John Carlson and Aliaksei Protas. Jason Robertson tied it at two at 13:09. Taylor Raddysh would give the Caps the lead for good at 17:19 to round out the scoring.

Charlie Lindgren made 22 saves out of 24 save opportunities. After the game he talked via Tarik El-Bashir of Monumental Sports Network, about how guys went all out late to clinch the win:

"Just being gritty there in the third period and finding a way to lock it down. Guys doing whatever it takes. I could go up and down the lineup with guys who made huge plays there to close a really good hockey team out. (Fehervary) is animal; he ate that one late. He got another big one in the second period. As a goalie when I see my guys doing the, it motivates me."

Dylan Strome talked about the double screens that resulted in goals by him and Raddysh:

We've been talking about it a lot... getting guys to the front of the net and taking away the goalie's eyes. Both of those goals, I don't think he really saw anything. And they both went 5-hole or along the ice that just tells you the goalie can't see it. Great job by those four who were in front of the net on those goals.

The homestand is now over which means on Saturday the Caps will hit the road to take on the New Jersey Devils in a rematch from opening night. You can catch the game at 7 p.m. on Monumental Sports Netowrk. Following the Devils the Caps head to Philadelphia for a road matchup with the Flyers.

That game against the Flyers will mark the first of a home and home back to back for the Caps as they'll host the Flyers in DC on Wednesday after playing them on Tuesday night.
