The Washington Capitals were busy the last couple of weeks and are finished adding to their roster but are willing to part with a certain player if it makes sense.

Caps general manager Chris Patrick is finished adding to his roster. The Caps had a very busy past couple of weeks, adding Alex Tuch and Jordan Kyrou, reshaping a roster that just missed the playoffs. Now, the Caps are looking like a legitimate contender but may not be done making moves. Patrick said that the Caps may be interested in moving a player to give the team more roster flexibility come training camp.

With some young players getting closer to making the jump to the NHL, opening up a roster spot could give one of them the chance to make the team for the Caps opener in October. There is also a chance they sign a free agent or invite a player to camp that catches lightning in a bottle and makes the team. To give these kinds of players a chance, the Caps would have to part with someone on their roster.

The Caps are now well stocked at the winger position in DC, Hershey, and throughout the rest of their developmental system. There are a number of young prospects that could be in position to make the NHL roster out of camp. There are a handful of players that Patrick may be willing to trade for draft picks.
