Capitals look to bounce back in Game 4

After the Carolina Hurricanes blanked the Washington Capitals 4-0 in Game 3, the Caps hope for a better result

The Washington Capitals will end tonight's game with one of two fates. Either an even series at two games apiece with the Carolina Hurricanes or heading back to the District down three games to one. You obviously are rooting for fate number one here.

The Capitals vs Hurricanes betting odds on Caesars have the Capitals as 1.5 goal underdogs on the road. The Caps have +205 moneyline odds while the Hurricanes are favored to win at -250. The over/under is set for 5.5 goals.

With a win the Caps will regain home ice advantage. The Capitals are 25-7-1 in games following a loss this season (regular season and playoffs combined) and 2-0 after a loss in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Washington was shutout three times during the regular season and had a record of 2-1-0 in games following a shutout. In each of their two wins after being shutout, the Capitals scored five goals.

In best of seven series all time the Capitals are 25-24 in Game 4s. In Saturday's defeat Tom Wilson recorded a game high 11 hits and those 11 hits tied a postseason career high and are tied for he second most in a playoff game by a Capital since 2005-06.

Per Sportlogiq, the Capitals held a 12-9 edge in high danger scoring shcances at even strength in Game 3. Washington has allowed 11 goals against at five on five through eight games which is the fewest among the remaining playoff teams.

In the first 20 minutes of Game 3 the Caps put up plenty of scoring chances but couldn't get anything through and it cost them dearly.

Per Natural Stat Trick, the Caps had an 8-1 edge in high danger scoring chances in the first period. Carolina netminder Frederik Andersen stopped everything in his path.

For the Caps to have a better Game 4 they have to generate better chanes offensively and this time captalize. We'll see if they can do that tonight.
