1987 Islanders Pat Lafontaine Ends the "Easter Epic" in the Fourth Overtime.

This is the granddaddy of all OT Caps playoff games, even though the 96 game against the Penuins actually was longer. I remember watching the infamous “Easter Epic” back on Easter Sunday in 1987. Everyone was home for Easter and we all stayed up until almost 1:30am, through four overtimes until Pat LaFontaine finally ended it. I will never forget Bob Mason falling back into the net exhausted after Lafontaine’s shot went in. We all felt the same way. This was the really beginning of the Capitals playoff curse.
