The Washington Capitals have announced that they have signed Oliver Suvanto to a three-year, entry-level contract, with a $1,075,000 average annual value.
The Capitals also mentioned that Suvanto is expected to be loaned to Tappara of Liiga in Finland.

With Tappara last season, Suvanto scored two goals and added nine assists for 11 points through 48 games. He also played three games with their U20 team, scoring three goals in three games.
In the 2026 World Junior Championship with Finland, Suvanto scored two goals through seven games.
In the 2024-25 season with Tappara's U18 team, Suvanto scored 11 goals and added 31 assists for 42 points through 42 games.
The Capitals selected Suvanto at 18th overall in the recent 2026 NHL Draft.
