The Top 2 Washington Capitals prospects face off
Up at TD Garden on Monday night, Ryan Leonard of Boston College and Cole Hutson of Boston University went head to head. In the contest itself, Hutson and Boston University would come out on top 4-1 in the 72nd Men's Beanpot Championship Game.

Next up for Hutson is a Friday nigh tllt at 7 p.m. at Providence and they'll return home to face Providence the next day. As for Leonard and Boston College they'll have a weekend set against UMASS.

Hutson's goal would go on to be the game winning goal. He would be named MVP in the Beanpot Championship. It came at 6:53 into the second period when he found a soft spot in the Boston College defense and fired the wrist shot past goaltender Jaob Fowler to put them up 2-1 at the time.
Hutson has 28 points in 26 games this season for BU with eight goals and 20 assists. As for Leonard he has 23 goals and 12 assists for 35 points.
South Carolina Stingrays
Over in the ECHL the South Carolina Stingrays are fourth in the Eastern Conference with a 28-12-3-2 record which is good for 61 points. They trail the top spot Florida Everblades by nine points as of this writing and the second place Trois-Rivieres Lions by four points.
Leading the Stingrays is Kyler Kupka with 22 goals and 22 assists for 44 points. Erik Middendorf and Austin Magera each have 33 points as Middendorf has 16 goals and 17 assists while Magera has seven goals and 26 assists.
Those were among forwards. Among defensemen Connor Moore leads with 28 points with eight goals and 20 assists. Blake Thompson has 24 points with two goals and 22 assists. Garin Bjorklund leads the goaltending as he's 10-3-1-2 with a 2.13 goals against average and a .922 save percentage.
Hershey Bears
The Hershey Bears are coming off a Tuesday 5-4 win over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at their home rink of GIANT Center in Hershey, PA. Ehan Bear, Spencer Smallman and Henrix Lapierre each recorded a goal and an assist. The Bears and Penguins season series is at 3-3-0-0.
For Lapirre he finally dented the twine as it was his first goal of the sason. That came at 9:32 of the first period to give Hershey a 2-1 lead and marked his first goal in the AHL or NHLsince Game 6 of the Calder Cup Finals on June 24, 2024. It also marked Hershey coach Todd Nelson's 126th win behind the bench for the Bears, tying Ralph "Cooney" Weiland for eighth in franchise history for wins by a head coach.
Hunter Shepard would get the win in net as his goals against average is currently at 2.94. Leading the Bears in scoring is Alex Limoges and Mike Sgarbossa each with 31 points. Limoges has 12 goals and 19 assists while the Bears veteran Sgarbossa has seven goals and 24 assists.
Right behind them is Mike Vecchione who's got 12 goals and 18 assists for 30 points. Defenseman Ethan Bear is up there too with 29 points (seven goals and 22 assists). Pierrick Dube has 25 points with nine goals and 16 assists while Ivan Miroshnichenko has 12 goals and 12 assists for 24 points.
