Sonny Milano is moving across the Pond next season. The Capitals forwardwill play in Switzerland next year. After a couple of seasons interrupted by injury and a lack of playing time in Washington, Milano has signed to play for SC Bern in the Swiss National League in the fall. After a head injury ended last season early for Milano, he was waived and sent down to Hershey. He scored 5 goals and had 13 points in 16 games for Hershey in 2025-26.
Milano was drafted sixteenth overall by Columbus in 2014 and played in parts of five season for the Blue Jackets before he ended up in Anaheim. Milano signed with the Capitals as a free agent before the 2022-23 season and used his speed and savvy to play important minutes in the Capitals bottom six. Sonny is best remembered for his signature hair, the curly-fro that was immortalized by his very own Chia Head giveaway at the Capital One Center on January 11th, 2024
Milano scored his first (and only) career hat trick against the Carolina Hurricanes on March 23, 2024 which helped the team secure a win and an eventual playoff berth that season. Milano played in 344 NHL games, scored 66 goals and accrued 145 points. He will be showing off his speed the ice in the land of cheese fondue, delicious chocolate, and Rösti.

Thanks Sonny. Good luck in Switzerland!
