Four Reasons Ovi Will Be Back Next Year

With rampant speculation that Alexander Ovechkin may retire, the Capitals have given him reasons to come back for another shot at the Cup.

Ovechkin has scored more regular season goals than anyone else after passing Wayne Gretzky last April. However, Gretzky has more goals combined goals regular season and playoffs with 1016. Ovi has 1006 and needs just ten more to tie. While he doesn’t need to prove anything else in the league, I can’t imagine he would just walk away eleven short of owning another goal scoring record.
