The Washington Capitals offense has been high flying. It's a no brainer it earned an A+ not only in this game but in their last five games and in this post we will explain why.

The Caps have scored a total of 26 goals so far this season including six last night. They've gotten production from top to bottom and the offseason acquisitions so far have been a home run to kickstart the Chris Parick era.

In last night's game the Caps got two goals from Connor McMichael and they additionally got some help from Alex Ovechkin and Pierre-Luc Dubois in the form of two empty netters to close out the game.

PLD told Vogs

We're probably not going to go 81-1. But you want to ride the waves as long as you can. It's not perfect. Tonight wasn't perfect. Last game wasn't perfect. None of the games were perfect, but to find a way to win the games, that's what top teams do. We want to get there; it's a long season and there's a lot to do. But these points are just as valuable.

Taylor Raddysh currently leads the Caps with a corsi for percentage of 54.23 percent. Jakob Chychrun is right behind him at 53.27 percent. From the defense, John Carlson has shouldered the offensive load in that department with a corsi for percentage of 57.22 percent. And we cannot forget about Nic Dowd who also got in on the scoring fun.

Now this wasn't cruise control by any menas for the Caps like PLD said. McMichael earned those goals in a 3:12 span and later on in the second the Flyers got on the board. Philadelphia Flyers coach John Tortorella added via Harvey Valentine of NHL.com, "We showed some life. Started forechecking. Just had a little bit more zone time. So, at least the second half of the game's a step in the right direction."
