The Capitals vs. Bruins betting odds on Caesars have the Capitals as 1.5 goal favorites entering today's game. Washington has -145 moneyline odds, while Boston is the underdog at +122. Today's over/under is set for 6.0 goals.

Today will be the second of three meetings between the Caps and Bruins this season. They'll complete the season series on April 1 in Boston. Washington fell to the Bruins 4-1 on Dec. 23 at TD Garden in the final game before the NHL's holiday break.

The Capitals are 72-79-21-9 all time against the Bruins. Neither team has won consecutive games against the other since January 2022. Today will be Alex Ovechkin's third game back from injury. He scored his 17th goal of the season on Sunday at Detroit. He also scored the night before in Toronto.

Ovechkin was out for a while with a fractured fibula but now sits 25 goals shy of passing Wayne Gretzky for the most goals in NHL history. The 39 year old has 17 in 20 games this season which is tied for the second most he has scored in the first 20 games of a season in his carer. The other times were 18 goals in 20 games in 2009-10 and 17 goals in the 2013-14 season.

Ovechkin has also scored in his last four games dating back to Nov. 17 which is seven goals in four games played. If Ovi can reach 20 goals this season which now looks like a matter of when, he would tie Ron Francis for the second most 20 goal seasons in NHL history.

Once again you can catch the game at 12:30 p.m. on Monumental Sports Network or listen to the game on 106.7 The Fan and Caps Radio 24/7.
