The Caps are coming off a 5-3 win over the New York Rangers on Tuesday night as Alex Ovechkin recorded his 174th career multi goal game, Aliaksei Protas registered a career high three points with a goal and two assists while the Caps held the Rangers to just 19 shots.

The Caps have won four straight at home marking their longest home winning streak since Nov. 2021. "We accept the challenge," said Ovechkin as his Capitals are 6-2-0 just like the local football team.

Connor McMichael added after the win, "It shows he rest of the league that we're here to play and that we're not backing down from anyone."

The Caps held an optional practice on Thursday. Jakob Chychrun did not participate as he's still recovering from an upper body injury. Alex Alexeyev missed practice for personal reasons.

As for Matt Roy he's real close but probably won't play so the Caps will have some stuff to sort out on the blue line. Before we go let's get to the betting odds.

Per Caesars Sportsbook, the Capitals are -1.5 goal favorites on home ice. The Caps have -205 moneyline odds while the Habs are the underdog at +170. The game is set for an over/under of 6.0 goals.
