The Capitals betting odds per Caesars Sportsbook have the Caps as 1.5 goal favorites entering Friday's matinee. The Capitals have -155 moneyline odds while the Islanders are the underdogs at +130. The over/under is set at 5.5 goals.
The Caps are coming home off a clean road sweep capped off by a topsy turvy game in Tampa Bay that saw the Capitals fall behind three times to the Lightning but rally for a 5-4 win. It was their League leading eighth comeback of the season and they did so with Alex Ovechkin watching and smiling from afar.
Tom Wilson would provide the game winning goal late on the power play and he said this to Mike Vogel of WashCaps.com:
"There was a little bit of everything in that game. But when stuff happens and there's a lot of ups and downs, you find out a lot about your team and your teammates. I couldn't be more proud of the group. And I'm proud of our goalie and just everybody stepping up. It was a pretty gutsy, gutsy effort tonight. "Tom Wilson via Vogs
The game even featured a bout right before the goal where Dylan Strome may or may not have lost some teeth. That came against Anthony Cirelli.
The Caps will enter this contest with 31 points, 10 ahead of the Islanders at a 15-6-1 record. That mark includes a decent 7-4-1 on Capital One Arena ice. Once again puck drop is EARLY at 3 p.m. on Monumental Sports Network.
