For the first time ever, these two teams will square off.
The Washington Capitals will conclude their three game road trip against the Utah Hockey Club at Delta Center for the first time ever. Per the game notes, Utah will be the 24th different state in the USA the Caps have played a regular season game in. They'll meet again in D.C. on Feb. 9.
The Caps look to complete the sweep of the three game road trip and are 5-2-0 on the road this season. There won't be a morning skate but Spencer Carbery talks to reporters 5:45 mountain time.
The puck itself drops at 9 p.m. on the east coast on Monumental Sports Network 2. You can also catch the game on the rado at 106.7 The Fan or Caps Radio 24/7.

54 of Washington's 72 goals this season have come at five on five, the most five on five goals in the NHL. Their plus 21 goal differential at five on five is the highest in the League with the Carolina Hurricanes (+15) being the next closest. The +24 in all situations is the third highest in the NHL.
Last night Alex Ovechkin reclaimed the throne of top goal scorer on the Caps so far thanks to that hat trick. It upped his goal total this season to 13 which is ranked tied for first in the NHL. Connor McMichael is right behind him with 12.
With goaltender Logan Thompson getting the hard earned dub last night, I'd imagine Charlie Lindgren gets the nod tonight in net.
