Our Washington Capitals report card series continues with Ivan Miroshnichenko who appeard in 18 games this past season.

He finished with one goal and three assists for four points. He averaged 9:21 minutes of ice time and had a plus/minus of +1.

Miroshnichenko also appeard in 53 games with the AHL's Hershey Bears where he had 23 goals and 19 assists for 42 points.

He also skaed in eight Calder Cup Playoff games and had three goals and two assists for five points. For Miroshnichenko he had his first professional 20 goal season.

While the Capitals themselves as a team finished with the second most goals in the league this past season with 288, it's good to know there's also offensive firepower in the pipeline.

At the conclusion of the regular season the Russian winger would score three goals in his final two games which all came at five on five. He passed Ethen Frank for the Bears team lead in goals.

He would have a big goal over Easter weekend in a 4-2 win over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins which propelled the Bears to the Atlantic Division. He opened the scoring 9:41 into the first period.

That Saturday he followed that performance up with his fourth multi goal game of the season. His first strike came 12:25 into the first period which tied their game with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

In the second period he would light the lamp to once again tie the game, this time at 3. The Bears would go on to fall 4-3 in that contest.

Grade C: Miroshnichenko is a player who's loaded with talent. He obviously wanted to spend more time with the big club but he truly blossomed at the AHL level to further help his development. Overall not too bad for the prospect.
