Hockey fans around the D.C. area can rejoice. The soundtrack to Alex Ovechkin's entire career will be in the booth for the rest of the journey as the Washington Capitals regional sports network, Monumental Sports Network, recently announced upcoming plans for coverage for 895 and the journey leading up to it.
The Gr8 Chase TV coverage just got right

Those national TV games are April 6 at the New York Islanders on TNT, truTV and Max, April 10 at home against the Carolina Hurricanes on ESPN plus and Hulu, April 12 at the Columbus Blue Jackets on ABC and April 15 at the New York Islanders on ESPN.

And yes it'll feature our favorite play by play guy Joe Beninati and other analysts from Monumental. "If Ovechkin records a historic goal during a national telecast, Monumental platforms will release recorded vido and audio of Beninati calling the sinificant moment and other talent reacting to Ovechkin's achievement. The network will then air the full Monumental game braodcast for Capitals fans to enjoy on Monumental Sports Network 24 hours after the national broadcast."
The Caps broadcast booth currently features Beninati and Monuemntal Sports Network analyst Alan May temporarily serving as color commentator in place of Craig Laughlin after Laughlin underwent a medical procedure earlier this year.
Joe B and May are joined by rinkside reporter Al Koken, who continues to provide fans with exclusive in game interviews and updates for all Capitals games on Monuemental Sports Network.
Zach Leonsis, the President of Media and New Enterprises for Monumental Sports and Entertainment said in the press release:
"We are immensely grateful to the NHL for their collaboration in ensuring that Capitals fans will hear Alex Ovechkin's historic moments called by Joe Beninati and our incredible Monumental Sports Network on air talent. After 28 years in our broadcast booth, Joe's voice has become synonymous with Capitals hockey and he deserves to call these once in a lifetime goals. I'd also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Capitals fans. Your passion and dedication inspire us every day, and our network could not be more excited to bring you unparalleled coverage of this incredible journey as we celebrate greatness together. "Zach Leonsis/MSE

"Having the chance to call this exceptional moment in hockey history is a profound honor for me and our entire live game crew. We have had the pleasure of describing and documenting almost all of Alex's goals throughout his career and capturing his pursuit of the all time goal scoring record is a privilege few get to experience. We can't wait to share this incredible milestone with our viewers and celebrate the legacy of an all time great. "Joe Beninati
Ovechkin is eight away from matching the record held by Wayne Gretzky and nine away from breaking it. Tune in as they say. We're about to witness one of, if not the greatest, moments of hockey history.
