On a BAUtiful day in the District, the Washington Capitals introduced Anthony Beauvillier to the fans and local media at MedStar Capitals Iceplex on Saturday following another big win, this time over the Detroit Red Wings.

At practice per Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post, the Caps had Beauvillier skating with Brandon Duhaime and Nic Dowd this morning. Ethen Frank was the extra man out.

Also his initial reaction to the trade, Beauvillier said it's "never easy playing against these guys" when referring to his times facing the Caps.
"I'm hoping to fit in. Trying to bring some speed and energy. Just going to try to do that and I'm super excited to be here. I'm just going to focus on what I can, try to bring some of the speed, energy and hopefully a couple goals. "Anthony Beauvillier
Watching the press conference on X which you can find in full below. He was smiling and lauhging among the folks in the room. Just good vibes all around. A different environment than where he was. The Caps only gave up a second rounder for his services. He'll likely make his debut tomorrow afternoon when the Capitals face the Seattle Kraken.

In the third period the night before the Capitals scored four goals in the span of 8:28 in the third period to erase a 2-1 deficit and down the Detroit Red Wings on home ice in front of fans and alumni in the Rock the Red Era night.
Aliaksei Protas had two of the four goals including the first of two shorthanded goals. Jakob Chychrun had his 18th goal of the season, tying his single season career high, to put the Caps ahead for good. Tom Wilson ended the four goal rout with his 11th career shorthanded goal.
Per the Caps, it marked just the 16th time in franchise history the Capitals scored two shorthanded goals in a single game and the ninth time they scored two shorthanded goals in the same period. It was their first time doing so since Oct. 22, 2024.
Washington shutout Detroit 4-0 in the third period and have shutout the opposition in the final frame in 35 of their 63 games this season. Unlike last season where the Caps had a -37 goal differential, the Caps have allowed the fewest third period goals against at just 43 and a League best +41 goal differential.
