Although Roy is listed as day to day, Capitals head coach Spencer Carbery said the new defenseman looks like he will miss some decent time.
I don't think it's going to be crazy long but he's going to miss a decent amount of time.
Ovechkin moves to the right wing while Jakub Vrana is in for Sonny Milano. Matt Roy's replacement or should we say fill in for the time being appears to be Dylan McIlrath.
I don't know if I'm going to play right or left or center. Maybe I'm going to play goalie tomorrow - we never know. But we still have options to find out combinations. It's the beginning of the year, new faces on the team, so we have to find the right combinations, right chemistry, so that's what we're trying to do right now.
Logan Thompson meanwhile talked about how he's getting the nod against his ex team.
You're always going to be a little extra motivated to play your former team. I'm just excited to get a first game here in a Caps jersey and hopefully help get the guys two points tomorrow.
Carbery added, "I will caution him to channel that (motivation) because.. if you don't have a level head.... if you want something so bad, sometimes it goes the other way. But he's... a firey guy and loves to compete, so this will be no different for him."
The Caps and Golden Knights go head to head on Tuesday night in what is sure to hopefully be a much better game than what we all saw on Saturday night.
