Next up on our Washington Capitals player report card series we're going to grade Mike Sgarbossa. He's a veteran who comes in and fills holes when needed whether it be with the Capitals or their AHL affiliate the Hershey Bears.

Sgarbossa suited up for three games and had a goal and an assist for two points. His lone points of the season came in the 8-1 win over the St. Louis Blues on Nov. 9.

In 35 games up in Hershey, Sgarbossa had seven goals and 24 assists for 31 points. His run with the Washington Capitals organization ended after the Bears playoff run ended on Wednesday night.

It was reported by LaGazetta del Ticino that Sgarbossa is moving his career overseas and will sign a contract with HC Lugano of the Swiss National League. This was annoucned the same day as Connor Carrick's two year contract.

The veteran leader on the Bears has been with the Caps organization since the 2018-19 season which is a stretch of six years.

The 32 year old played in games with the Capitals in five of those six seasons and recorded 15 points in 45 games a total of seven goals and eight assists.

Sgarbossa made the most of his contributions with the Bears as their first line center. During his first season in Hershey he had a heck of a season scoring 30 goals and recording 65 points.

Over the last three seasons Sgarbossa was a center for wingers Mike Vecchione and Ethen Frank. They became one of the best lines in the American Hockey League.

Grade C: Three games wasn't much but his best game was clearly that offensive outburst against the Blues in St. Louis. Sgarbossa will now head overseas since the Bears season came to an end on Wednesday.
