We have no idea who's playing in the 2026 NHL Stadium Series but what we do know is that the possibilities are endless. If the Washington Capitals are lucky enough to play one of these before the Alex Ovechkin era ends here are 3 ideas that we totally came up with ourselves.

#3 Lane Stadium

Imagine for a second if the Caps took on the Penguins or the Hurricanes. Penguins because there are Pens fans everywhere lets face it. Hurricanes to cater to those few in Southwestern Virginia. But Virginia Tech, win lose or draw is a good venue to host one of these. Imagine for a second both teams coming to the ice together and the fans jumping up and down to the greatest opening intro of college football in Enter Sandman. That would be an epic scene especially with the rink backdrop. They're playing next year's game at "the shoe" in Ohio State so why not give Blacksburg, Virginia a chance at hosting this incredible spectacle? Especially to those diehard hockey fans in the NRV.

For the non Hokie crowd and the fans from Maryland I'm not including Ghost Town Field or M&T Bank for obvious reasons. So the next best thing on that side of the DMV is College Park in Maryland. There was a good crowd at Navy in 2018 so why not cater to the Maryland fans once again? Yes we're going college football venues the whole way through and this stadium can seat 51,802.

I didn't forget about you either UVA fans. I know there's Caps fans among that crowd too. So maybe a compromise would be a shorter drive to Charlottesville which is the home of Thomas Jefferson. The Nats racing presidents can even do a 100 yard dash with the Wahoo and Slapshot!
