5 Rookies that could impact the Washington Capitals in 2024-25
With the season inching closer let's take a dive into who could potentially make the team
The Washington Capitals season is getting closer. Here's a list of some rookies that we think have what it takes to make the team in 2024-25.
Hendrix Lapierre
Hendrix Lapierre is a dark horse to make the roster after the spring that he had with the Hershey Bears. Tarik El-Bashir of Monumental Sports Network, noted that possibility in his latest mailbag.
"I think they'd like the reigning AHL playoff MVP to become a second line center. I bet he starts next season in the middle of the third line, though.
Lapierre dazzled us with the Bears en route to their second straight Calder Cup so it would make sense to see him on the opening night roster, at least in our opinion.
Ivan Miroshnichenko
The rookie needs to have a strong camp after the solid March callup that he had along with tearing it up with the Herhsey Bears. At least, that's the assignment. Tarik makes a good note that you can't have the 20 year old not play at all so even if he has to begin the season in Hershey, it wouldn't be tragic.
Ryan Leonard
This article can't leave out the future of the franchise. And we aren't trying to preach to the choir but if the kid wants to win a championship at the college level go let him do it. If he's ready and the Caps are ready we suspect a call up. The fun part about this time of year is you never know.
Ethen Frank
Ethen Frank is also expected to get a good look in the upcoming training camp. Potentially Pierrick Dube could as well but if they start the season in Herhsey it's for the three peat attempt.
Andrew Cristall
Andrew Cristall improved his skating, per El-Bashir and it showed thanks in large part to skating coach Wendy Marco. Just like everything we deal with in challenges, it's something he can always work on.
