Alex Ovechkin participated in Washington Capitals morning skate but alas did not take warmups ahead of the their game against the Ducks going on right now on Monumental Sports Network.

Darcy Kuemper gets the nod in goal for the Capitals while the Ducks will go with Lukas Dostal. Here were the rest of the lines in warmups via The Washington Post's Bailey Johnson:

Pacioretty-Strome-Oshie

Lapierre-Kuznetsov-Wilson

Protas-McMichael-Mantha

Malenstyn-Dowd-NAK

Fehervary-Carlson

Alexyev-Jensen

Edmundson-Bear

Caps are 5-1-1 in their last seven games against the Ducks dating back to the 2019-20 season. Caps will have Alex Alexyev draw into the lineup while Trevor van Riemsdyk gets the night off. Matthew Phillips is the other healthy scratch.

Last weekend was the Lindgren bown between brothers Charlie and Ryan and they both had good games. Charlie played a big part in the Caps comeback win Saturday and helped keep them in the game Sunday even though they fell short. Ryan was all over the place on defense.

Tonight it's the Strome bowl between brothers Dylan and Ryan. Starting for the Capials right now as the game began per Tom Gulitti of NHL.com:

Kuznetsov-Lapierre-Wilson

Edmundson-Bear

Kuemper

Rasmus Sandin and Sonny Milano are still hurt. Sandin suffered an upper body injury on Friday Jan. 5 in a loss to the Carolina Hurricanes. Milano has been out with an upper body injury since Dec. 14 but was the star in the Capitals 4-1 loss to the Seattle Kraken with his very own chia pet night.

So far this game as I'm writing this there is 16 minutes left in the first period and shots are even at one apiece. The Caps just got whistled for a penalty for too many men on the ice. If you are reading this what are you even doing?! Put the game on NOW!
