Bears drop Game 5 as Logan Day scored his first playoff goal

The Hershey Bears simply got crushed on Saturday night in Cleveland as the Monsters scored five unanswered goals after the Logan Day goal. The tally came at 12:11 of the first period and Washington Capitals prospect Hardy Haman-Aktell had the assist.

Meanwhile in Milawukee the Coachella Valley Firebirds finished off the Admirals so they await the winner of the Bears vs. Monsters series. Game 6 is on Monday night and if you are available the Bears need you there. You can buy tickets on HersheyBears.com.

How they lost

The second period saw five goals. Frst it was Alex Whelan in what was the first of four goals in the second period. Josh Dunne struck as well as did Brendan Gaunce twice. Dunne would add his second goal of the night in the third period. The Bears also went 0 for 4 on the power play.

What went well

The Bears did kill off three of the four Monsters power plays on the evening. The Bears also outshot the Monsters 34-25. Hunter Shepard made 16 out of 20 saves while Clay Stevenson got the nod in the third period. The latter would make four saves out of five shot attempts.

What's next?

Game 6 is on Monday June 10 at 7 p.m. at GIANT Center. It'll air in the Hershey market on WPMT Fox 43.2 Antenna TV and fans can watch in the DC area on the new Monumental Sports Network which is almost one year old after their rebrand from NBC Sports Washington.
