The big storyline heading into tonight's game is Ilya Protas and Aliaksei Protas playing together. They said via El-Bashir:

It's awesome being on the same team and it's awesome.. the age gap was pretty big when you play like juniors and stuff. Basically pretty much first full game which is a completely different stage than summer hockey. When you put the NHL jersey on it's something to be proud of. It's different and we have to take care of the chance and have fun.
Aliaksei Protas

The younger Protas, Ilya, said in the joint interview that he's "a little nervous but excited" and that it helps having the older brother with him.

Ilya was selected by the Caps with the 75th overall pick back in June while Aliskei was taken 91st overall pick in 2019. The 18 year old Ilya spent last season with the Des Moines Buccaneers of the USHL recording 51 points in 61 games with 14 goals and 31 assists. He also ranked tied for second among first year players in power play goals with six while ranking tird in points.

A reminder that the puck drops from TD Garden tonight at 7 p.m. on Monumental Sports Network as well as Team 980 and Caps Radio 24/7. After losing 6-2 to the Philadelphia Flyers on home ice, the Caps will look to bounce back on the road.
