Breaking down the new Hershey Bears jersey for the 2024-25 season

The Hershey Bears and Washington Capitals have had a long storied partnership for decades and today selaed it with a new jersey patch

The Hershey Bears, a proud affiliate of the Washington Capitals unveiled a brand new jersey they'll rock this season in honor of their longstanding partnership since the 2005-06 season and in conjunction with the Caps 50th anniversary season.

Hershey Bears vice president of hockey operations Bryan Helmer said in a press release:

We're thrilled to unveil our new jerseys and refreshed look ahead of what should be another exciting season. Our brand and the Chocolate and White color scheme are iconic, and these new streamlined jerseys celebrate our decorated history, while looking ahead to our bright future. I look forward to seeing these jerseys on the ice this season as we compete for a third consecutive Calder Cup title.

Per the release the "new sweaters feature a streamlined look that maintains the club's iconic Chocolate and White motif, while continueing to showcase cream accents. The jerseys are a blend of classic and contemporary, and they feaure a simplified template that proudly highlights the club's primary logo as the crest."

There is also bold and horizontal striping feaured on the new jerseys and contrasting color shoulder along with elements from the club's pevious jerseys including vertical piping and underarm gussets that have been removed in favor of "a sleeker and more refined design that is perfect for the AHL's most historic franchise."

The left shoulder of the jersey continues to support the club's alternate paw print logo which has been a staple on the team's sweater's since 2012. The right shoulder of the jersey proudly features the logo fo the Caps and sinc the clubs joined the Bears took home five Calder Cups in 2006, 2009, 2010, 2023 and 2024. No AHL or NHL pairing has won more Calder Cups in that stretch. Per the release the Bears previously worn the Caps logo as a shoulder patch including when they won back to back Calder Cups in 2009 and 2010.

The new jerseys will debut on Oct. 19 as the club will raise another Calder Cup banner for the opening weekend of the season. More details on those jerseys as well as the specialty jerseys will be available at a later date and single game tickets are now available.
