Breaking down the Washington Capitals road jersey sponsorship with TikTok
On Monday morning the Washington Capitals announced their road jersey patch sponsor for this season and it's none other than TikTok
The Washington Capitals along with Monumental Sports and Entertainment announced a partnership with TikTok. For the Caps 50th anniversary season they'll be wearing TikTok as their official road jersey sponsor patch. Per the press release from the Capitals, it's a mutli year partnership and wil include the NBA's Washington WIzards, the WNBA's Washington Mystics, the NBA G League's Capital City Go Go, and NBA2K's Wizards District Gaming.
It will run through the conclusion of the 2026-27 season per the release. The first Caps road game is a September 24 preseason date in Boston against the Bruins. Jim Van Stone the President of Business Operations and Chief Commercial Offcier at MSE said this in the press release:

The Caps are currently the eighth most followed team on the app with more than 387,700 followers. The tam's account always features fresh content highlighting players and their personalities both on and off the ice with 10.3 million TikTok likes to date and over 14.4k posts on TikTok using the hashtag #washingtoncapitals. Globally, #hockey has 2.7 million posts whiile #hockeytok has 209.3k posts.

TikTok will be the Caps first ever road jersey partner. Back in 2021 they were the first NHL team to announce a jersey partner with the announcment of Caeasars Sportsbook which was the partner for both the teams home and third jerseys.
