Capitals win the battle in Boston to prepare for war with Canucks

It was a much needed complete game win. They got it. Maybe they can do it again?

The Washington Capitals played a complete game which is what the glass half full fans wanted in the first place. "Top line T.J. is bad?" Well T.J. Oshie scored. "Stromer hasn't scored since the all star break!" well Dylan Strome did to make it 2-0.

"Charlie Lindgren isn't it?" Well he did just shutout another solid team and it wasn't the first time. He did so behind just 18 shots, stopping every single one. And credit to those in front of him to help him out in the high danger chances. That's teamwork!

"Alex Ovechkin will never score again." LOL he just passed Wayne Gretzky for the most empty net goals. Now just two 30 goal seasons is all he needs if that's the last one this season.

But it might not be. Ovi is heating up again with a five game point streak and a four game goal streak. You may very well should say now that "the king is coming back."

This was just an overall good effort and for those that were sad the Caps lost six in a row, you gotta be in better spirits now becasue the next test comes in mere moments against the Vancouver Canucks at 1:30 p.m. on Moumental Sports Network with Joe B. and Locker on the call. For the John Walton fans you can listen on 106.7 The Fan and Capitals Radio 24/7.

The lineup will be the same today because if it isn't broken you can't fix it. He also said this via Tarik El-Bashir of Monumental:

Spencer Carbery is right. And if they play like they did yesterday there's no doubt they'll do the same today if they continue to work together. It is indeed "something to build off of".

So while you're getting ready to root for the Chiefs, 49ers, a good game or funny commercials for the Super Bowl tonight, there's a big game appetizer at 1:30 p.m. when that puck drops. Can the Caps continue to trend upward or will the Canucks dominate? Should be interesting!
