Connor McMichael was a passenger for a while after his hot start to the season but lately he's picked things up. Top line minutes doesn't hurt either. He's on a three game point streak with two goals and one assist. Him along with other youth have helped keep the Washington Capitals in the playoff hunt and the journey continues tonight at 8:30 p.m. eastern at the Calgary Flames on Monumental Sports Network and NHL Network.

McMichael had an assist on Saturday night at Vancouver and his current point streak is tied for the longest of his career, matching his rookie total in November of the 2021-22 season. McMichael had the game winning goal in the Caps 2-1 victory at the Seattle Kraken which was his second straight night with a goal. It was also his third game winner of the season.

Sean Allen of ESPN.com added this about McMichael:

"Playing on the top line with Alex Ovechkin and T.J. Oshie, McMichael has another mini streak going with points in three straight games. The Capitals have a four-game week with no back-to-back sets and three of those contests at home, which is about as good as a schedule gets. McMichael, Hendrix Lapierre and Tom Wilson all could be worth a look for your lineup, depending on league size."

McMichael has 14 goals on the season which ranks fifth on the Caps. 11 of those goals came via even strength which is tied for third. On the Caps road trip so far which wraps up tonight in their fifth and final game, McMichael along with Ivan Miroshnichenko have combined to score three of the Caps six goals of the road trip.

The Caps have also noted that McMichael leads the Caps in goals since Feb. 13 with seven.
