T.J. Oshie and the Washington Capitals celebrated the Oshbabe's 1,000th career game with a win on the road against the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday March 16. But on Sunday March 24 against the Winnipeg Jets it'll be our turn as fans to celebrate the Oshie milestone prior to the Caps game against the Winnipeg Jets. Puck drop is at 12:30 p.m. By the way that last hyperlink is a four tickets for $177 offer the team is doing.
The Caps will honor Oshie with a pregame ceremony so if you have a ticket to the game get there early! During warmups, Caps players will wear #77 jerseys which will be signed and auctioned off in a Monumental Sports and Entertainment Foundation TJ1K Jersey Auction that will benefit the Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation, whos mission is to rapidly accelerate the development of drugs to prevent, treat and cure that terrible disease that took so many of our loved ones including TJ's dad Coach.
Per the press release from the Caps, the fundrasiser opens the day of the game at 11 a.m. at WashCaps.com/TJ1K and close at 3 p.m. on Wednesday April 3. All jerseys will have "buy now" priciing where bidders will be able to purchase the jerseys at set prices.
If you can't afford a nice new jersey have no fear! All fans in attendance will receive a T.J. Oshie rally towel to commemorate the milestone. The towel is designed by 500 Level and fans are encouraged to use the #TJ1K hashtag on social media.
If you can't make the game you can catch the broadcast which will include the ceremony on Monumental Sports Network. It is very special that Oshie got traded to the Capitals in the summer of 2015. As soon as that trade happened it was the missing piece and it became a when and not an if.
That when resulted in Oshie lifting the Cup and sharing the moment with his father. His dad is looking up there proud of him for his latest achievement.
