Hershey Bears take Game 2 behind two goals from Ivan Miroshnichenko

The Washington Capitals AHL affiliates the Hershey Bears were once again back in action on Saturday night at Giant Center. It was a sellout of 10,712 and the Bears continued to protect their den as they've won all four of their playoff games at home and lead the best of five series 2-0.

Per the Bears, head coach Todd Nelson earned his 61st AHL playoff victory which moved him past Hockey Hall of Famer and Bears legend Frank Mathers for sole possession of fourth place in AHL history.

Miro goes beast mode

The Bears began the playoff scoring with a poewr play goal 2:50 into the first period on their third shot of the game thanks to Ivan Miroshnichenko's fourth of the playoffs. Jimmy Huntington and Chase Priskie ahd the assists. He added his second of the night at 13:32 of the second period off a slick dangle to double the Bears lead to 2-0 in the contest.

Ethen Frank then added his team leading fifth playoff goal at 4:25 of the third period with Lucas Johansen and Hendrix Lapierre providing the assists. It would turn out to be Frank's playoff leading fourth game winning goal.

Then Jake Massie shot the puck from the blue line and Lapierre tipped it in for the alley oop past Dylan Garand. That put the Bears up 4-0. The Wolf Pack would get on the board with a goal from Jake Leschyshyn at 17:02 and Anton Blidh at 19:11 but Hunter Shepard still finished the night with 22 saves for his fifth win of the playoffs.
